Z-Tech is a privately held Texas Corporation. The purpose of the corporation is to seek, develop, engineer and manufacture high quality solutions to the medical industry. Z-Tech has a dedicated think-tank, with member participation from inside and outside the corporation. The Z Group is dedicated to researching, developing and combining concepts for next-generation medical solutions. The information and concept products are generated by participation from academia, medical experts, management experts, manufacturing experts and other broad areas of expertise.

Z-Tech Corporate Information

The corporation now known as Z-Tech, and its principals, have a long and successful history. The founding fathers of Z-Tech began in 1966 with the formation of United Meter Company. United Meter designed, manufactured, and maintained electronic control equipment in the oil & gas industry. The primary manufacturing complex was located with the headquarters in Andrews, Texas. These control designs were to be put in the harshest operating environments any industry could offer. Progressive, solutions based electronic design, with ease of operation distinguished United Meter as a "best in class" corporation. In fact, the corporation became a target of industry giant LTV. In 1980, United Meter sold its assets and manufacturing complexes in Andrews, Texas to LTV.

In 1986, a new generation of automation equipment was born. UMC Automation was formed. UMC Automation was headquarters in Andrews, Texas. Manufacturing complexes are located in Andrews and Midland, Texas. The product line included custom-designed automation solutions, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCUD) as well as special electronic and/or software design for custom applications. UMC manufacturing company designed manufactured and maintained state-of-the-art electronic solutions to a broad cross section of industries, this time including the oil & gas fields in the Soviet Union as well as other international destinations. UMC again became a leader in the energy industry. With outstanding reputation came diversification opportunity. Other industry members such as municipalities, medical, food and the security companies also became UMC clients.

In 1994, UMC Automation began design and manufacture of Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS). The manufacturing complex is located in Midland, Texas. To date UMC has manufactured and distributed thousands of PERS systems throughout the United States. Also in 1994, a second corporation; Automated Response Center (ARC), was formed. ARC, a 24-hour emergency monitoring center, was located in Midland, Texas. ARC’s growth rate gained the attention of the nation’s largest monitoring centers. Subsequently, the nation's second largest monitoring corporation purchased a portion of ARC's assets. In first quarter 1998 UMC Automation was re-named Z-Tech. The manufacturing complex and corporate headquarters remains in Midland, Texas. The corporate goals have always remained the same; Manufacture the highest quality, user friendly solutions to the industry.
